I founded dogsmatter.org in early 2011 after I saw how meaningful my visits were to the people I visit and I received and continue to receive more requests for visits than I can complete.
As a result, the mission of dogsmatter.org is to: 1) educate everyone about the important work therapy dogs do so that more special dogs and their humans become therapy teams and 2) make information on how to become a therapy team more easily accessible.
PS – Other special pets and their humans are encouraged to become therapy teams, too.
My personal goals are to:
- educate everyone on the importance of therapy dogs (pets) in our lives.
- share information on how to become a certified therapy dog team (pet).
- work with my human as a therapy team to bring attention and support to people of all ages.
- work with my human as a therapy team to help young learners become more confident individuals and better readers.
